About Me!

Hello!  My name is Jules Deon

I’d like to start by telling you a little bit about myself and how I ended up Here!

I’ve spent my career in the property management and real estate industry for just over 20 years.  I’m currently a real estate broker and owner of a successful Real estate Brokerage. I’ve been able to achieve this with a lot of help from my wonderful husband to whom I owe a lot of credit to for supporting us while I was fulfilling a dream of mine to own my own business.

During the last 4 years, I have found myself searching for something artistic and therapeutic to release stress from my daily life of dealing with other people’s problems.

Being artistically challenged, I spent a lot of time on the internet researching different arts and crafts that I could actually do without getting frustrated and feeling down on myself.  Somehow, I found these amazing paints called pebeo prisme (moon and fantasy). Not being able to be content with just painting for the simple goal of relaxing, I had to figure out a way to start a business selling my painting creations.  This is where I came up with making pendant necklaces using pebeo paints and resin.  (My resin research began after reading an article about adam ant who I absolutely love) HE did resin art in the early part of his career, that is what sparked my interest in learning more about resin.

That is when Jules Design Creations was born! For me, there is no such thing as starting small to see if it’ll be successful.  I went in 110% thinking that I was going to be very successful and generate a lot of sales because my jewelry was so unique and one of a kind. So… I did a lot of research to find paints, resin, pendants, necklaces and anything I needed to set myself up for success at wholesale prices. I then created my etsy shop, facebook page and a website.

My OCD wouldn’t allow me to start promoting anything until I had hundreds of necklaces made, gift wrapping and packaging. Once this was all completed, I promoted my etsy and facebook page to generate sales. I also paid for several art festivals to debut my jewelry.  FOR THIS, I had to buy the tent, order banners, business cards, jewelry displays, tables to make sure I was set up for success.

My 1st show generated enough revenue to cover all of my start up costs so I was happy about that.  My etsy shop however, wasn’t doing so well.  I spent countless hours trying to figure out how to get more exposure and interest in my jewelry.  Its an overwhelming feeling when you put so much time and energy in creating something that you feel is awesome, yet people aren’t buying it.  The anxiety of feeling like I needed to have a ton of necklaces ready because I KNEW AFTER ALL OF MY PROMOTIONS, I WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO KEEP UP.  wELL… that did not happen!  This is when I had to rethink my artistic abilities and ideas. I didn’t want to give up because I was so driven to get out of real estate and I had invested so much money in products.

One night, we were out to dinner.  My husband brought a necklace wrapped in an organza bag and gave it to our girlfriend.  She loved it and asked me if I offered different colors to interchange with one pendant.  I had not thought of that idea!  So I went home that evening and started googling interchangeable necklaces to see what type of ideas I could find.  I stumbled upon magnets and buttons.  The only thing I was finding was people creating them with images.

I decided to purchase a button maker to create interchangeable magnetic pendants. OF COURSE, I BOUGHT THE SET THAT MAKES 5000!! I started using my pebeo paints on paper, hole punch them and put them into a button.  THIS process created one of a kind unique painted buttons that I placed magnets in. selling a pendant with 4 different buttons and a necklace.  I’ve sold a lot of these in local boutique shops and arts and craft shows.  They do much better than online because photos don’t do them justice.

Moving on and feeling frustrated once again, I decided to start meditation after attending a retreat.  I fell in love with the whole idea of meditation and gratification.  During this time, I was struggling to find a work life balance and trying to find contentment in my life so I could enjoy the lifestyle that my husband and I created rather than always trying to figure out HOW TO GET OUT OF REAL ESTATE AND how to make money with jules design creations.

So… I started meditating, doing daily reflections, Affirmations and releasing negative energy and incorporated gratification into my life hoping to get the balance I really wanted.

Well once AGAIN, I TOOK SOMETHING THERAPUETIC FOR ME AND TRIED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH IT. I decided that I was going to create a journal and planner. Taking another passion of mine and That is how “work life balance organizer, planner and journal” came about. I created this as a digital download and soft cover book format which includes pages to reflect, release, meditate, relax, draw, has a calendar and to do lists.

Painting, drawing, writing, creating and designing are all forms of meditation as well as being very therapeutic.

Now that I have found this passion, I decided to take it a step further and work toward getting out of Real Estate all together. I have many different interests and passions as you’ll see in my shop and on my website!  I am fortunate enough to live on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida:)  I also got married on the beach in anna maria island. Both of these have developed my love of all things coastal and beachy.

As I sat down this evening, my 1st sentence was “what do I want to create?”

I had to sit and write down all of the things I wanted to design and create because of the many interests and passions I have developed as I’ve gotten older.  I love writing things down on paper because I feel like it flows from my mind much better.  In doing this, I had many notes scattered on several pieces of paper that resulted in an overwhelming feeling again.

I had to release all of the ideas out of my mind so that I could start creating and stop thinking about doing it.  Thinking about things and not acting on them can take up so much wasted space in your mind.  So… writing this has become my release and cleanse to begin creating and stop thinking about it!

I DECIDED THAT THE 1ST STEP IN ACCOMPLISHING THIS WAS TO WRITE IT DOWN, GET IT OUT OF MY MIND SO THAT I CAN SEE IT ON PAPER.

THAT LEADS ME TO MY NEXT OBESSION THAT I HAVE HAD SINCE I WAS A CHILD.  PAPER!  I love everything and all things paper.  You’ll see what I am talking about when you visit my shop and website.

I SOON REALIZED THAT ALL OF MY PASSIONS HAD THE SAME THING IN COMMON WHICH IS A WORK LIFE BALANCE AND WORKING TOWARD ELIMINATING STRESS AND LOVING WHAT I DO. I’M NOT THERE 100% BUT I AM ON MY WAY TO BEING ONE STEP CLOSER!

HAPPY CREATING!

After many years of procrastination, not knowing if people would like what I create, being insecure and fearing failure, I told myself that the time is NOW! And when I say now, I mean just recently as in September 2017.

Ive taken all of my products, creations, domains and websites that Ive attempted to make successful over the years and told myself that the time is now that I condense everything into one website/blog to create simplicity.  After all, my drive has always been to Live Life Simple by creating my work life balance.

Im a firm believer that everything is about timing and actually being “ ready” to go after the things you want in life.

I finally said Im doing it’ and I am so thrilled to get started. Im looking forward to taking my experiences and creations and sharing them with you in hopes that I can help you create YOUR work life balance!

What’s your passion?
